very graphic

Hello everyone. Well, leave it to me to search out and find a very brave woman who has fought the breast cancer battle and had a double mastectomy. I read her page and viewed the pictures of what may lie ahead for myself. As disheartening as it is, I know that this battle is an uphill climb and I need to make the best possible decision for my long term health.

I should warn you that if you visit this site, the pictures are graphic. I share Debbie's story with you solely for the purpose of education.

As for me, I need to take time to process it all...

  1. Hey girl. That's what I ad 5.5 yrs ago. It was stage 2b, grade 3 cells. Upon removal, the frozen section procedure revealed it as ER/PR neg as well. Fortunately, my lymphnodes read clean. God blass modern technology in this area over the last hadnful of yrs. I got the Sentinal Node Biopsy (blue fluid shot fm duct to nodes). Yes, you'll lose your hair & yes it grows back. You're going to be good, I know this.

  2. Arla,
Thank you for being so bold by sharing what is so personal and, no doubt, a very difficult time for you. Because of you, I had a long, overdue mammagram done. I'm moved by your determination to look this thing right in the face and stand up against it! In life, we never know what cross we will have to bear. I see a courageous woman, determined not to give up. You're always in my prayers. Psalm 40:1 -3 says, "I waited patiently for the Lord, and He inclined unto me, and heard my cry. He brought me up also out of a horrible pit, out of the miry clay, and set my feet upon a rock, and established my goings. And He hath put a new song in my mouth, even praise unto our God: many shall see it, and fear, and shall trust in the Lord". Trust Him, Arla.

  3. Well hello there young lady,it's your little brother Randy.I finally got a moment to try and type on this thing they call a puter. Arla, you are living proof of the 82nd airborne, when the fight is on, you stand and stare right back at it as if it were'nt even there. I truly admire your heart, soul, and dignity through this battle. Sis, if I could be there with you sherry and ferell I would. I get choked looking at the pics in the hospital of you, but ,our big sister is there so is ferell and pam to.Some people see, feel, and fight the beast but lose, you are winning. Since I was in the hospital, what I kept was my hair (lol) and my life was givin back to me, Cheryl, and my 2 beautiful kids who now are grown up as yours are.
Not a day goes by that I dont think about you and everything your goin through, I'm just very sorry that I cant be there for you physically but mentally I am. Damn girl you got my eyes watering now. Me and my family will keep you in our thoughts and our prayers.

With all our love and prayers
    Randy,Cheryl,Nick & Sammi
